Senator Michele Brooks and Representative Marla Brown are organizing a Senior Expo scheduled for Friday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event will take place at the Cascade Park Dance Hall in New Castle.
The expo aims to connect senior citizens, their families, and caregivers with resources from various exhibitors representing local, state, and federal agencies. Health care providers and organizations focused on seniors will also participate. Attendees can learn about programs related to health care, financial planning, veterans’ services, and fraud protection.
“I always enjoy these opportunities to engage with our senior citizens and ensure they have access to the support they need,” said Brooks. “This expo offers valuable tools to help seniors live safely, independently and actively.”
“Older adults are a vital part of our community,” said Brown. “This event is designed to connect seniors and their families with helpful services, provide health resources and create a fun, welcoming environment.”
Free health screenings and vaccinations will be available at the event on a first-come, first-served basis. Vaccinations offered include flu, pneumonia, tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis.
Food will be provided for attendees. Admission is free and there is no need for registration.
