Rep. Marla Brown has announced a $500,000 allocation for an improvement project in the 9th Legislative District through the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP). The funding aims to enhance local infrastructure and stimulate economic growth.

“I am proud to announce this significant investment in our community,” said Brown. “The renovation of the Union Station Crossing Wright Building will not only preserve an important historic site but also revitalize it for future use. This project will provide improved accessibility, safety and functionality for all who use the space, ultimately benefiting our entire community.”

The grant is awarded to DON Enterprise Inc. and will finance a comprehensive renovation of the Union Station Crossing Wright Building. The project includes exterior enhancements such as new windows, entries and exits, stormwater management site work, compliance with ADA requirements, an improved parking lot, and upgraded exterior lighting. Interior renovations will span all five floors and feature new mechanical systems—electric, heating, air conditioning, water, fire alarms, and fire suppression—as well as insulated walls and flooring installation.

RACP is a Commonwealth grant initiative managed by the Office of the Budget. It supports design, acquisition, and construction projects that foster regional economic, cultural, civic, and recreational development.
