Rep. Marla Brown has announced that schools in the 9th Legislative District will receive over $951,000 in grants. These funds are awarded by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency’s School Safety and Security Committee.
“Ensuring the safety and well-being of our students and staff is a top priority,” said Brown. “These grants will help our local schools strengthen security measures and provide critical mental health resources, creating a safer and more supportive learning environment for all. I’m proud to see these funds go toward supporting the future of our children and our community.”
The following school districts and technical schools in the 9th District have been allocated grants:
– Laurel School District: $118,590
– Mohawk Area School District: $127,479
– Neshannock Township: $123,140
– New Castle Area School District: $160,539
– Shenango Area School District: $119,334
– Union Area School District: $113,708
– Wilmington Area School District: $118,345
– Lawrence County Career and Technical School: $70,000
The PCCD’s committee awards these grants to enhance safety measures and mental health services for students and staff across Pennsylvania.
