Neshannock Junior Senior High School issued the following announcement on Feb. 10.

As a Life Scout in BSA Troop 743, Christian Golub, NHS Class of 2022, is preparing for his Eagle Scout service project.  Eagle Scout is the highest achievement in the Scouts BSA program of the Boy Scouts of America. Since its inception in 1911, only four percent of Scouts have earned this rank after a lengthy review process.

For his Eagle Scout project, Christian has decided to host a community blood drive. According to Christian, “After enduring my personal health journey of having a non-malignant bone tumor last year, I realized many people across the United States require blood for many different health conditions.”  The American Red Cross has confirmed that we as a nation are currently dealing with a ‘national blood crisis,’ which is one of the many reasons Christian believes this project will benefit our community. Christian’s goal for the service project is to have 33 people sign up to donate blood.

The blood drive will be held on Thursday, March 31, 2022, from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at First Alliance Church in Neshannock, PA.  To learn more blood donation or to register to donate, click on the links below:

On behalf of everyone at Neshannock Township School District, we wish Christian all the best as he takes the final steps to earning his rank as an Eagle Scout.
