Scientific Method with Marigolds
Under the guidance of Dr. Corrette-Bennett, students in fourth grade have been learning about the scientific method.
Students began the process by coming up with a hypothesis on how marigold seeds would grow best. Would they do best being watered with tap water, watered with a low salt content, or watered with a high salt content?
Fourth graders began by planting marigold seeds, and Dr. CB ensured that the students had an understanding of the different variables. They measured the height of the plants each week, determining which plants grew tallest. After three weeks, students graphed their results.
What a fun activity to practice the scientific method from beginning to end! This activity has us thinking spring!
