Rep. Marla Brown has expressed approval of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's announcement regarding the allocation of $34.3 million through the Neighborhood Assistance Program. This funding is intended to support 218 projects throughout Pennsylvania, with a focus on revitalizing distressed areas and improving conditions for low-income individuals.
Lawrence County is among the beneficiaries, with two notable organizations receiving grants:
The Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation will receive $391,473 to develop a countywide real-time Unified Report Management system. This initiative aims to enhance law enforcement operations by enabling faster case processing and better criminal investigations, thereby improving safety for officers and residents alike.
Sovereign Community Outreach has been awarded $9,000 to expand its services for underprivileged youth. The funding will be used for renovations aimed at addressing food insecurity and expanding youth development programs within the community.
“I am thrilled to see Lawrence County benefit from this critical funding through the Neighborhood Assistance Program,” said Brown. “These grants will help improve public safety and provide essential resources for our youth. I am proud to support initiatives that strengthen our community and ensure brighter futures for all.”
The NAP grants are part of an investment strategy in Pennsylvania’s communities designed to promote innovation, job creation, and economic development. The funding is anticipated to have a long-lasting positive impact on local communities by strengthening public services and community-based programs.
