Rep. Marla Brown has acknowledged the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development's recent announcement of $34.3 million in funding through the Neighborhood Assistance Program (NAP). This funding is set to support 218 projects across Pennsylvania, aiming to revitalize distressed areas and improve the lives of low-income individuals.
Two organizations from Lawrence County are among the recipients benefiting from this program. The Lawrence County Economic Development Corporation will receive $391,473 for a countywide Unified Report Management system. This project is expected to enhance law enforcement operations by enabling faster case processing, better criminal investigations, and improved safety for officers and residents.
Sovereign Community Outreach has been awarded $9,000 to expand its services for underprivileged youth. The funds will be used for renovations addressing food insecurity and expanding youth development programs in the community.
“I am thrilled to see Lawrence County benefit from this critical funding through the Neighborhood Assistance Program,” stated Brown. “These grants will help improve public safety and provide essential resources for our youth. I am proud to support initiatives that strengthen our community and ensure brighter futures for all.”
The NAP grants demonstrate investment in Pennsylvania’s communities with goals of fostering innovation, job creation, and economic development. The funding is anticipated to have a lasting positive impact on local communities by strengthening both public services and community-based programs.
