Borough of New Wilmington issued the following announcement on Sept. 8.
New Wilmington Borough is taking applications for a full-time assistant to the Council Administrator.
Must be well organized, able to multi-task, flexible, open minded, possess a positive attitude to learn and a strong commitment to the community.
Requirements:
High School Graduate. Degree from accredited college in finance, accounting, business or public administration, or a related field preferred, however experience may be considered. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, QuickBooks, the ability to operate a calculator and answer phones professionally are a must.
Skills:
Extensive interaction with public, must be able to interact with the public successfully and positively. Must demonstrate exemplary customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Able to manage efficiently and effectively under deadlines.
Ability to use a computer and various operating software to input and extract data.
High degree of confidentiality
Ability to work independently and with a team.
Duties:
Manage all aspects of Zoning Enforcement including preparing legal ads, building permits for local and Uniform Construction Code, obtain, record and file in a timely manner with follow-up compliance issues.
Assist Zoning Hearing Board with organizing collection of information and schedule hearings, follow up with compliance and file documentation.
Manage and file all issued permits and the collection of fees.
Track all broad appointments with notifications of vacancies to administrator.
Responsible for office supplies and keeping the supply room in order.
Reconcile monthly bank statements.
Responsible for record keeping of the Municipal Water Authority. Prepare meeting notices, prepare invoices, process checks, prepare reports and assist auditors. Maintain minutes as prepared by Board Secretary.
Scheduling Park and Amphitheater events, work with volunteer park committee. Responsible for record keeping of Park and Pool Department. Maintain employee records, management, prepare and copy rules, informational handouts, and other information as needed. Collection of season-pass sales and maintain card system. Prepare deposits throughout season and prepare report of operations after season for administrator.
Assist customers and residents at counters for receiving payments for trash tag purchases, police services, receiving complaints and more to assist in the enforcement of municipal ordinances.
Be able to withstand long periods of sitting or standing.
Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
All other duties as assigned by the administrator.
This position will include a 90-day probational period.
