Community members in the Sewickley area have new options for primary and specialty care with UPMC. UPMC celebrated the opening of UPMC Primary and Specialty Care in Sewickley with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Fri., Feb. 11.
The opening of UPMC Primary and Specialty Care here in Sewickley is a significant part of our mission to provide our communities with new options for advanced care at UPMC,” said Mark Sevco, president, UPMC Hospitals. “With convenient access to and from Beaver County and UPMC Passavant-McCandless hospital, UPMC Primary and Specialty Care provides a wide range of medical and diagnostic services together under the same roof.”
Twenty providers at the new location, who are affiliated with UPMC Passavant hospitals in McCandless and Cranberry townships, are currently welcoming both new and existing patients in specialties including heart and vascular, neurosurgery, obstetrics and gynecology, orthopaedics, thoracic surgery, urology, and primary care.
The new UPMC services will complement UPMC Children’s Community Pediatrics also located in the building at 111 Hazel Lane, Sewickley, Pa. and add the UPMC signature specialty center care of UPMC Magee-Womens and UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute.
The demand for UPMC’s primary and specialty care in Sewickley and surrounding communities is increasing. Last year alone, UPMC provided more than 60,000 clinical appointments for residents of this area at UPMC facilities across the region,” said Sevco. “This represents an increase of 10,500 clinical appointments from the previous year. This new, local multi-specialty center will provide that needed care closer to home for these residents.”
This patient-centered approach is designed to serve the community by bringing physicians together who were previously in separate locations,” said Susan Hoolahan, president, UPMC Passavant. “Having these services under one roof will offer greater convenience and efficient access to care — and reduce travel for our patients.”
Heart disease, stroke, and primary care are defined community health needs of the UPMC Passavant service area. The services added at this new location will support to meet the health needs of the community.
